The Owl, the Philosopher, and the Chimp
Hootie says 44 is better then AA. Hootie can kick some serious ultra micro but. Enough so I stay clear of him unless I have too. He jokes, but if I could hear his owl hooting voice through the lap top there would a strange sense to it . That some where his voice would reveal, he really does believe underneath all his owl wisdom pockets fours will beat pocket aces. Enough so that even though we all know that AA is much better then 44, if a four hits the flop with Hootie in the hand - I am careful. Just Hootie playing his favorite hand more then he should. Mine is J ten of hearts. It feels like it wins more then it should. It feels saucy and lovely to win with the hand especially. I indulge it by letting the hand randomize my play. Only AA or KK or QQ for say 30 hands, play uber tight for a while except raise and re-raise J ten of hearts from any position. The thing is I have to lay them down when they don't hit and you shouldn't really go all in with them. Unless of course your favorite hand which seems to win a lot is AA. In which case by all means go all in pre-flop. Hootie swears by 44 and when is not playing 44, Hootie plays pretty darn good.
In the next Sng I was so close to my Ten barrier. Resting my chimp buttocks right on it. Zarathuztra was there kicking up a blue green dust of chips flying off the table. I was feeling social and excited to be making an other attempt to break the big ten buck barrier. It didn't happen. My QQ all in got all cracked up by a truck load of Ace rags. I guess there was enough of a nexus of bad luck out there that the left over ace could find the flop. The luck wasn't there. No Biggie. I played cards with an owl and a philosopher tonight. I shall be all the more wise for tomorrow's attempt at that elusive 10 buck barrier.... unless I get Jack Ten of Hearts Down.
